Hyundai Creta 7-seater To Launch Later This Year

Hyundai Creta is one of the top-selling SUVs in its segment and its rivals with the likes of Kia Sonet and Nissan Kicks. Just like the first-gen model, the all-new Hyundai Creta became popular among the buyers in a very short span of time. Recently, the automaker announced that they have received more than 1.15 lakh bookings for the 2020 Creta. Reports suggest that the carmaker is also working on the new 7-seater version of the SUV. The 7-seater model of the Creta has been spied several times while getting tested in the international markets and is expected to launch by the second half of this year.

The upcoming 7-seater Hyundai Creta is likely to be named as Alcazar and will feature a few cosmetic tweaks compared to the regular model of the SUV. It is a stretched-out version of the 5-seater model. The new 7-seater Creta is expected to be offered with the same wheelbase, but the overall length of the car will be increased to accommodate an extra row. From the spy images surfaced online, it seems like that the front fascia of the upcoming SUV will look quite similar to that of the regular 5-seater model. Upfront, it is expected to get a split boomerang-shaped LED DRL with tri-projector headlamps and turn indicators on the lower part of the bumper.  

Even the alloy wheel design looks similar to that of the 5-seater Creta. At the rear, the SUV gets a split boomerang-shaped LED DRL with tri-projector headlamps and turn indicators on the lower part of the bumper.  Mechanically, it’ll derive power from petrol and diesel engine. The petrol mill will come paired with a 7-seater DCT, and the diesel version of the SUV will come mated to a 6-speed MT or automatic gearbox. Once launched, it’ll rub shoulders with the likes of MG Hector Plus and upcoming new-gen Mahindra XUV500.
