Kia Seltos has helped its brand gain momentum in India. The recently launched Creta is also doing a wonderful job on the sales graph. But let's see how do they differ from each other.

Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are mechanical cousins. They are underpinned by the same platform and also come equipped with the identical powertrain and drivetrain options. However, that is where the similarities end between the two. So, we thought of the points where these cars differ from each other and thus, came across a video on YouTube channel of thecarguide.in. The video explains the changes between the top-end Hyundai Creta SX(O) and the recently launched 2020 Kia Seltos GTX+.

Exterior: Dimensions and Design

Starting with the exteriors first, these cars are poles apart in terms of their design language. The Creta uses a rather futuristic and polarizing design with curves and bouncing lines all around. The Seltos, on the other hand, uses straight lines and boxy appearance to stay true to the SUV terms. Use of chrome and LED lighting elements is evident on both the cars. However, it is the Seltos that leaps here with a rather conventional and timeless design. While the Creta looks bigger and bulbous one here, it is the Seltos that boasts of bigger dimensions.

Both cars make use of black colour on the interiors. However, the Creta uses it in combination with a beige shade, while the Seltos does so with a lighter white colour tone. The interior of Turbo variants of the Creta and GT Line trims of the Seltos come draped in black theme with red inserts. Considering the design language on the inside, the Creta’s design is rather subtle, but the Seltos look the premium one here. It also gets unibody housing for the instrument console and the infotainment unit. The infotainment screens on both the cars are identical in size, measuring at 10.25-inch. The Creta gets a basic digital display for the instrument cluster; the Seltos does the job with an 8.0-inch LCD unit. Seltos also gets an 8.0-inch heads up display.

The SUVs are offered with identical engine options – 1.5L petrol, 1.4L turbo-petrol, 1.5L diesel. Also, these engines are offered in the same state of tune in these SUVs. The 1.5L naturally-aspirated petrol motor produces 115 PS/140 Nm, the similarly sized diesel, on the other hand, belts out 115 PS/250 Nm. The smaller 1.4L turbocharged petrol motor is the most powerful of the lot with a rated output of 144 PS/242 Nm. The transmission options available on these cars are identical as well. They come with the option of a 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, 7-speed DCT, and a CVT automatic. However, the Creta, unlike the Seltos, misses out on a manual transmission with the 1.4L turbo-petrol motor.
