Hyundai Elite i20 Hits Massive Pothole, Repairs Cost Rs. 40,000

This Hyundai Elite i20 experienced a difficult day when a massive pothole damaged its clutch assembly and the cost of repairs totalled to Rs. 40,000.

Recently, numerous images and memes of Mumbai roads have emerged on the Internet. Many potholes have appeared on the Mumbai roads, which possess great difficulties for people and their vehicles when passing through them. To make the matters worse, these potholes have taken some lives of the people who were riding their two-wheelers. The latest victim of these havoc-breaking potholes is the Hyundai Elite i20 that you see in the pictures below. While the owner was travelling to his work, he encountered a massive pothole. It was so deep that it damaged the under-side of the car. The complete clutch assembly of the Elite i20 suffered severe damages. The extent of the damage was so high that it incurred a repairing cost of Rs. 40,000 to the owner.

The whole clutch system has been damaged so the repair cost is very high.

If only the clutch pad was damaged, the cost of repair would've been approximately Rs. 10,000. But in this case, the complete clutch assembly got damaged, cost of which is nearly Rs. 20,000, excluding the labour charges and taxes. The frustrated car owner took it to Twitter and tagged BMC and the Chief Minister of the State of Maharashtra. Also, he attached the bill of the repair cost.

As regards the Hyundai i20, the new generation of the hatchback is expected to be debuted around the festive season this year. The vehicle has been spied on test numerous times in India but with heavy camouflage. The new i20 will come with an updated design for the exterior and interior. Also, it will boast of a long list of features now along with a set of new engine-gearbox options. Hyundai is likely to offer a Turbo trim as well, which will be powered by a 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor that will belt out a peak power output of 120 PS and max torque of 172 Nm. The owner will have an option to choose either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed DCT with this motor. The latter is expected to come steering-mounted paddle shifters as well.
