Hyundai Elite i20 is among the popularly known hatchbacks offered in the Indian market. It competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Tata Altroz. The car has scored a 3-star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash test. Here are a few images of a recent accident of Hyundai Elite i20 that highlights the robust build of the car.
One can see here in one of the images that the car is standing behind a truck at a signal. Afterwards, a speeding big truck hits the Hyundai i20 from the back. The hatchback can be seen crushed between both the massive trucks. The height of the trucks is a bit higher, so the car literally came under both of them.
The front fascia of the Hyundai i20 has almost touched the rear axle of the truck. One can clearly see that in this accident the speeding truck driver is at fault. The good news is everyone sitting inside the car safely escaped the mishap with some minor injuries. As you can see in these images, the Hyundai i20 has been completely destroyed without and scope for repair. The front-end of the car, including bumper, grille and the bonnet encountered huge damage. Moreover, the front windscreen has been completed shattered. The driver’s side door along with wheels and axles seem to be unaffected.
The rear facia of the car has been completely damaged, too, as one can only see the rear wheels. The boot, as well as the rear passenger seats have suffered a major damage. The passengers sitting inside the car were safe because they were sitting in the front row. In other news, the Korean automaker will launch the new-gen i20 in the Indian market in the coming months. The all-new premium hatchback will be available with a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine options. It will come loaded with features like electric sunroof, air purifier, ambient lighting, Hyundai’s BlueLink tech and much more.
