Watch showroom employees shake it while delivering a Hyundai Kona Electric SUV to the customer

Hyundai Kona EV was launched in India a while back, and it is the first electric SUV to be sold in the country. It is a Completely-Knocked-Down (CKD) import, as opposed to a Completely-Brought-Up import, to keep costs in check. As it is an electric vehicle, the Kona has zero emissions, a step towards a greener future. Recently, Hyundai had one of its Kona EV delivered to a customer in Lucknow, and decided to make the event even more special by having the showroom employees break a leg on the dance floor.

As seen in the video, the delivery ceremony was quite grand, and the showroom employees looked like they were having a lot of fun. The dance routine consisted of various energetic Bollywood songs, and while the employees danced in the foreground, the car stayed covered in the background. Eventually, the covers were removed towards the end of the performance, and the keys were handed over to the customers, albeit with a smile on their faces. The family can also be seen enjoying the dance in the video.

Hyundai Kona EV is currently only available in 15 cities across the country. Availability in other cities will remain limited, at least until proper infrastructure is established for sustainable EV operations. Its powerplant is an electric motor that produces 135 Bhp and 395 Nm of max power and torque respectively. The Kona also gets a fast charging option which can charge the battery up to 80% in an hour! ARAI testing has claimed a range of 452 Km on a full charge, which is extremely impressive.

Hyundai Kona EV was launched at an introductory price of ₹25.3 Lakh, which was then reduced to ₹23.71 Lakh after Govt. of India reduced GST rates for electric vehicles in the country. There would also be no registration charge or road tax imposed on electric vehicles, and will have to wear a green number plate for easier identification. This was done to help improve popularity of electric vehicles, which are currently much more expensive than a comparable petrol or diesel car.
