Kia Sonet - All Variants and Features REVEALED Ahead of Launch

The upcoming Kia Sonet will be offered in two trims: GT Line and Tech Line, which are divided into six variants. This article is going to provide you with the list of features offered in each variant of the Kia Sonet. Read on to discover.

The Kia Sonet is slated for launch in the Indian auto market next month, prior to which, the sub-four-metre compact SUV has been leaked with all the features across its variants. For your information, the Kia Sonet will be offered in two trims: GT Line and Tech Line and six variants: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and GTX+. Here is a detailed variant-wise feature list of the compact SUV.

Kia Sonet HTE

The entry-level HTE variant of the Kia Sonet will receive its power from a 1.2-litre NA gasoline burner with 83 PS/115 Nm and a 1.5-litre oil unit with 100 PS/240 Nm which are mated to a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed MT, respectively. The Sonet HTE features will include 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, a black cabin with fabric upholstery, tilt adjust for the steering wheel, 3.5-inch mono colour MID, front adjustable headrest, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, front power windows, front and rear USB charging points, front electrically-adjusted windows, rear air-conditioning vents. The vehicle is packed with standard safety features which consist of ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and rear parking sensors.

Kia Sonet HTK

The powertrain options on the HTE variant will be carried over to the Kia Sonet HTK: 1.2-litre gasoline and 1.5-litre oil units with their respective stick shifters. The features that are offered in this variant over the previous one include follow-me-home headlights, 16-inch steel rims with metallic silver finish, semi-leather upholstery with white stitching, keyless entry, 2 DIN audio system with four speakers, UVO Lite Bluetooth remote control application, a sunglass holder, steering-mounted audio controls, height-adjustable driver’s seat and rear electrically-adjusted windows.

Kia Sonet HTK+

The HTK+ variant will keep under its hood all the powertrains which are offered with the Sonet, including the same two motors as the two previous variants, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor with 120 PS against 172 Nm mated to a 6-speed iMT/7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre oil burner with 115 PS against 250 Nm mated with a 6-speed AT.

The features that will be offered on the HTK+ over the previous variants include auto headlights, a radiator grille with chrome elements, projector fog lights, front and rear faux skid plate, a shark fin antenna, LED turn signals on wing mirrors. In terms of the interior, the Kia Sonet HTK+ will get an 8.0-inch touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Arkamys audio connectivity, driver auto up/down window with anti-pinch rear defogger, multi-drive modes (only offered on the DCT version), auto climate control and wireless phone projection and rear parcel tray.

The safety features on the HTK+ over the previous variants include brake assist traction control (DCT only), hill-holder, vehicle stability management, electronic stability control and a reverse parking camera.

Kia Sonet HTX

The HTX variant is offered with the iMT 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit and a 6MT 1.5-litre oil motor. The additional exterior features include LED headlights, LED DRLs integrated with indicators, chrome handles and silver garnish, ORVMs with LED turn signals, front and rear faux skid plates, LED taillights and rear bumper with dual muffler design.

As regards the interior, the car comes with a beige-and-black dual-tone paint scheme with silver stitching on seats, a D-cut steering wheel with leather wrap and Sonet logo, remote engine start, a rear-seat armrest, an electric sunroof and autocruise. This variant comes with only one extra safety feature in comparison with the HTK+ variant; this is ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Kia Sonet HTX+

The Kia Sonet HTX+ borrow all the motor options from the Sonet HTX. Over the previous variants, the Kia Sonet HTX+ is equipped with R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bose 7-speaker sound unit, AI voice recognition, a 4.2-inch colour MID, UVO connected car tech, LED sound mood ambient lighting, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear wiper and wash, smartwatch connectivity, air purifier and ventilated front seats.

Kia Sonet GTX+

Being the only variant under the GT Line of the Kia Sonet, the GTX+ is currently the top-spec variant of the compact SUV. It is available with the 1.0-litre turbo gasoline burner mated to a 6-speed iMT/7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre oil unit paired with a 6-speed MT/6-speed AT.

The additional exterior features offered on this variant include a front bumper with red accents, projector fog lights, powered ORVMs, R16 diamond-cut alloy rims with red highlights over the HTX+ variant. The interior features over the previous variants include leather seats with red stitching, leather steering with ‘GT’ Line logo, pedals with a metal finish, air-conditioning vents with gloss black finish, start-stop push button, electrically foldable ORVMs, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, front and rear USB charging ports, wireless smartphone charger, auto-dimming IRVMs with buttons for connected car technologies control,  height-adjustable driver’s seat. In terms of the safety features, the GTX+ variant will be equipped with up to six airbags and front parking sensors over the GTX+ variant.
