The Kia Sonet has a myriad number of choices when you factor in the trim levels and the engine choices, making buying one confusing. But the HTK+ may be the sweet spot of the range, read on to know why.
The Kia Sonet is the second car after the Seltos that the brand has launched and managed to be an instant hit. It launched in September this year and has already found more than 10,000 happy homes due to its aggressive and appealing design language, packed to the gills feature list, and value-for-money price range. It competes against the likes of the new Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, and its sibling the Hyundai Venue in a tightly packed segment. We have a video today that has been uploaded by Plus Drive which showcases what may be the best trim to buy, the Sonet HTK+.
The HTK+ trim for the Kia Sonet is placed bang on the middle of the range, with the HTE models below it and the HTX and GTX trim above it. Being in the middle, it may lose out on some features like projector headlamps and electric sunroof but you still get loads of features like
16-inch steel wheels
Semi-leatherette seats with white stitching
Height adjustable driver’s seat
Rear door power windows
2 DIN Audio system with 4 speakers, Bluetooth and UVO Lite
Steering-mounted audio controls
Projector fog lamps
LED ORVM turn signal
Leather-wrapped gear knob (AT and DCT variants only)
Automatic climate control
Power folding ORVMs
Driver side one-touch auto up/down power windows
8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Rearview camera with guidelines (can be activated while moving forward)
Wireless phone projection (only with an 8-inch touchscreen)
ESC, hill start assist, brake assist, traction control, and drives modes ( DCT variant only)
The Kia Sonet HTK+ is the only trim where you have the choice of three engine options, 2 petrol, and 1 diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol makes 83Ps/115Nm of peak figures and is paired with a 5-speed manual while the 1.0 turbo-petrol makes 120Ps/172Nm of ax power and torque and is mated to a 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre oil-burner comes in either 100ps/240Nm or 115ps/250Nm states of tune and you get two gearbox choices, a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto. Prices for the Kia Sonet HTK+ range between Rs 8.45 lakh – Rs 10.49 lakh depending on which engine and gearbox combo you go for, all prices ex-showroom.
