Digitally rendered Kia Sonet X-Line gets a similar aesthetic appeal as the Seltos X-line concept. It features a lot of off-road-centric design elements.

Kia unveiled the X-Line Urban Attack and Trail Attack concepts based on the Seltos at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2019. These concepts featured extensive cosmetic changes that lend the Seltos with a rugged appeal. Now, the Seltos’s younger sibling – Sonet is ready to go on sale in the Indian market. So, our in-house rendering specialist – Shoeb R. Kalania thought of imparting the same appeal to the sub-4m compact-SUV. As a result, he came up with a digital rendering of the Sonet X-Line concept, which draws heavy inspiration from the Seltos X-Line Urban Attack and Trail Attack concepts.

Kia Sonet Rendered In X-Line Avatar, Looks More Rugged Than Seltos X-Line Concept

It looks distinctive in comparison to the Tech Line and GT Line trims of the Sonet as it boasts of a slew of changes. To start with, it now wears a Foliage Green paint job that gives it a purposeful look. The front scuff plate here has shrunk in size but has become beefier for sure. Below the tiger-nose radiator grille, there’s a LED light bar fixed now. And, on its sides, fixed are two tow hooks. The bonnet, however, continues to look the same but features two air scoops.

On the roof, a luggage rack has been fixed, which also act as the mounting bracket for the auxiliary lamps. On the sides, the most noticeable of all changes are the new steel rims. They are shod with chunkier all-terrain tyres. Other changes include orange highlights, which can be seen on elements like, ORVMs, door handles, side cladding, roof rails, bonnet scoops, radiator grill, and tow hooks.

Sonet is going to be the smallest offering from Kia to go on sale in the country by sometime next month. It is likely to start from Rs. 7.00 lakh to rival the likes of Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and more. Also, Kia is betting big on the Sonet. It will offer the Sonet with 3 engine options, 83 PS 1.2L petrol, 120 PS 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 100 PS/115 PS 1.5L diesel. There will be 5 gearbox options on offer – 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, 6-speed AT, 6-speed iMT, and 7-speed DCT.
