The China-spec Kia Seltos, known as KX3, has a few differences over the Seltos which is available in India. Check out these difference here.
Kia Seltos is one of the most popular vehicles in India. Although it was introduced to our market late last year, the Seltos managed to rise up the ranks in the sales charts. Before the lockdown brought the auto industry to a standstill, Kia Seltos had been the best-seller in its segment. Although it is one of the most impressive cars in India, there is an even better version of the same car available in our neighbouring country, China!
Called the Kia KX3 in the Chinese auto market, Kia introduced the China-spec Seltos during the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show. Overall, the Chinese version has a lot of similarities with the Indian version, there are some key differences that set them apart. The first difference is the dimensions. Kia KX3 is slightly larger than the Seltos sold in India. A complete breakdown of the dimensions is given in the table below.

Kia KX3 (China)
The second biggest difference is the availability of premium features like adaptive cruise control and a panoramic sunroof. Although Kia Motors has recently updated the Seltos with new features, the two mentioned here are still given a miss. The last significant difference between the Chinese and the Indian model is the engine choices. Kia KX3 is available with only one engine option. Its a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, petrol unit that generates 115 PS. The Indian model, on the other hand, gets two more powerplant options along with this one – a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol – which brings the total engine options to three.
There are a total of three versions of the Kia Seltos. The primary version is the one manufactured at Kia’s home country, South Korea. It is codenamed ‘SP’ and is aimed towards developed markets. The second version is the Indian version, based on the Hyundai Creta. Codenamed ‘SP2i’, this model is manufactured in and targeted mainly towards India. The third version is the KX3 manufactured in China. Codenamed ‘SP2c’, it is based on the Hyundai ix25 (China-spec Creta). The Indian version is the smallest of the bunch while the Chinese one is the largest.
