Look at DC Design’s founder Dilip Chhabria and his private cars, which includes several names from DC Avanti to Porsche 911 Turbo S.

If you've ever heard about DC Design and its exotic DC-modified cars portfolio in India, you’d surely know about the name behind the company, Dilip Chhabria. For the uninitiated, Dilip Chhabria is quite a famous Indian car designer who founded the country’s renowned modification studio, DC Design. The name of Chhabria has been spreading across the automotive circuits for his skills, especially for the “applause-worthy” works he designed until date. So what car the man should drive in the real-life? Here is DC Design Dilip Chhabria car collection.

DC Avanti

No surprise, Dilip Chhabria owns a DC Avanti, the first indigenous Indian sports car which has become quite well-known around the globe. Dilip Chhabria’s famous creation was made to production at their Talegaon factory and is an extremely practical car suited to Indian road conditions. The DC Avanti gets a ground clearance of 170 mm that is more than what a few hatchback cars in India offer. The DC Avanti is powered by a Ford-sourced 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder turbocharged engine that can produce 250 BHP of max power and 366 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The electronically-limited top speed of the DC Avanti is rated at the around 180 kmph.

The DC Avanti is built by DC Design and serves as the first Indian sports car

At the time of launch, the DC Avanti was priced at around Rs 35 Lakhs. Currently, the DC Avanti is the cheapest sports car in India. The car was initially disregarded by many auto enthusiasts due to its polarising design and not-so-sharp driving dynamics as compared to the other international-spec sports cars. Nonetheless, it should be noted that this is a totally unfair comparison, as brands like Lamborghini and Ferrari have invested massive R&D budgets into their new cars compared to the limited budget DC Design has in India.

BMW X6 M

The next car in Dilip Chhabria's garage is the BMW X6 – the first-ever SUV-coupe that we saw in the world. That said, the BMW X6 delivers a right mix of ruggedness for an SUV and elegance as well as sportiness for a coupe, all in one model. Among the number of people who own a BMW X6 in the country, Dilip Chhabria is just a proud owner. His metallic blue-coloured X6 M is like a ‘humongous beast’ on the tarmac and Dilip has been spotted driving it various times around.

The BWM X6 M that he possesses is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that is capable of generating a decent power of 567 BHP and a whopping 750 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. It has an ability to sprint from 0 – 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds and hit the electronically-limited top speed of 250 kmph. As per some recent reports, the X6M has been recently sold to the Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

Aston Martin Vanquish

British brand Aston Martin had asked for Dilip's help to design the interior and exterior for the prototype of the Vantage V8. It then, comes as no surprise that Dilip himself also owns an Aston Martin Vanquish, a gorgeous-looking grey-painted grand tourer that got a price sticker of around Rs 5.21 Crores in India some time back. In truth, Dilip did own one of the most expensive cars available in India.

The Aston Martin Vanquish employs a massive 5.9-litre V12 engine that pumps out a good power of 568 BHP units, enabling the car to achieve the peak speed of up to 324 kmph. The car was coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission that shifts like a knife through butter in around 130 milliseconds.

Audi R8 Spyder

Next up in the Dilip Chhabria's car collection is the Audi R8 Spyder that is among the best-selling sports cars in the world. The R8 Spyder that Chhabria purchased is a stylish-looking yellow model produced in 2012 that was seen with Dilip Chhabria’s son, Bonito, quite a few times.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

It is true to say that the Indian celebrities have an in-depth passion for Mercedes as we spot many famous businessmen and Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan or Anil Kapoor with Mercedes-Benz cars in India. So does Dilip Chhabria. DC Design’s founder had a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in the beautiful red paint scheme in his garage. The SLS AMG was the last gull-wing style vehicle built by Mercedes-Benz before it was replaced by the AMG GT.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is acclaimed for its stylish gulling doors and gorgeous outside appearance

For many, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG might not be the best sports car out there as it does not offer the “gigantic” power and torque figure to beat other badass players in the game. Still, there is no denying that the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is quite a looker and the gulling-style door of the car is, says, nothing other than perfect. Even the bonnet of the SLS is long flowing and it matches the sleek rear-end that reminds us about the original Mercedes-Benz 300 SL.

Powering the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG of Dilip Chhabria is a huge 6.2-litre V8 powertrain that generates a mighty power of 563 BHP and 650 Nm of torque. The car was caught being driven by his son many times and is often spotted at the Buddh International Circuit.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Apart from the SLS AMG, Dilip Chhabria also own a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. As you may know, the S-Class luxury saloon has been a regular car in the celebrities’ garages, not only in India but also in other countries in the world. Dilip bought himself a black-coloured Mercedes-Benz S-Class which is an older generation of the luxury sedan and uses it for his daily commutes.

The S-Class of Dilip Chhabria is a 3.0-litre V6 engine that is tuned to deliver 210 BHP of power and 490 Nm of torque. These figures are not as impressive as the earlier ones in Dilip Chhabria cars list but it is rather a fun-to-drive car thanks to the excellent 7-speed automatic transmission it gets on offer. When DC does not want to drive, the S-Class turns out to be a perfect chauffeur-driven vehicle.

Porsche 911 Turbo S

Porsche cars are undeniably one of the most favourite car brands of petrolheads, including Bill Gates. However, the excessive pricing and the expensive ownership cost has made Porsche cars a rare sight on the Indian roads. Regardless, Dilip Chhabria got himself an ultra-cool Porsche 911 Turbo S that is known as one of the greatest track cars in the automotive world.

Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged flat-six engine making 572 BHP of power.

The 911 Turbo S owned by the Chhabria is the new-generation model launched in India last year. It comes with an advanced twin-turbo flat-six engine under the bonnet, outputting a maximum power figure of 572 BHP. The car can travel up to 100 kmph from a standstill in only 2.9 seconds. Apart from Dilip Chhabria, the Porsche 911 has made it to many Indian celebrities’ car garages.
