Here's a new-gen Mahindra Thar looks almost identical to the Jeep Wrangler with a Jeep-inspired radiator grille and bumper. Take a look at it here.

Mahindra Thar is grabbing a lot of attention for its design, which is often claimed to be inspired by that of the legendary American off-roader - Jeep Wrangler. But that’s acceptable since the Thar and Wrangler share their roots to Willy's Jeep. Although, there is a definite distinctiveness between the two’s design, and to reduce that gap of differentiation, aftermarket parts have been constantly coming up in the market for the new-gen Thar. We recently came across a set of images via the social media platform of the new-gen Thar, which can confuse the most for a Wrangler.

These images were shared by Azad 4x4, which is a Gurgaon-based tuning house that develops aftermarket accessories for various off-roaders. In the images, the all-new Thar can be seen donning Azad 4x4’s new Jeep-type radiator grille and bumper. Interestingly, this bumper is winch compatible and gets two tow shackles that are finished in a red colour scheme. Moreover, it comes with mounts for auxiliary lamps. While we are not aware of the installation process of the bumper, the grille is a direct fit on the mounting points of the stock grille. Earlier, we have seen extensively modified examples of last-gen Mahindra Thar from the tuning house, which imitated the Jeep Wrangler with utmost accuracy.

Unlike the last-gen model, the all-new Thar comes with a long list of features. It gets automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, power windows, roof-mounted speakers & more. On the safety front, it gets dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, 3-point rear seat belts, roll cage, front seat belt alarm, high-speed notifications, seat belt with pre-tensioners & load limiters, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

The all-new Thar can be had with either a 2.2L mHawk diesel engine or a 2.0L mStallion turbo-petrol motor. The oil burner is good enough to push out a rated power output of 130 Hp and max torque of 300 Nm. The turbo-petrol setup, on the other hand, develops a higher peak power output of 150 Hp and peak torque of 320 Nm. The Thar can be had with two transmission choices – 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. Also, it comes with a BorgWarner 4x4 transfer case with a mechanically-locking rear differential as standard across the range.
