This video has been uploaded by a YouTube channel named Arun Panwar. Since the Maruti Baleno is only offered with a petrol engine, this drag race is done between the petrol trims of both cars. With the new-gen Hyundai i20, the automaker offers a NA petrol engine and a turbocharged gasoline mill. This video only shows the drag race between the NA petrol engine options. The Hyundai i20 you see here is in brand new condition. In total, there were three rounds conducted in this video. The drivers were also changed after two rounds to ensure that the drag races are fair. The Maruti Baleno won all three rounds within a few seconds.

The Maruti hatchback remains ahead of the new-gen Hyundai i20 in all three rounds. Maruti Baleno is powered by a 1.2-litre, four-pot, gasoline unit, which develops power and torque outputs of 82bhp and 113 Nm, while the Hyundai i20 gets propelled by a 1.2-litre NA petrol mill, which is capable of shredding out 83 PS of power and 115 Nm of twisting force. Both hatchbacks come paired with a 5-speed MT. Maruti Baleno is much lighter than the Hyundai i20. This is why the Maruti hatchback has a better power-to-weight ratio, and that is why it was quicker than the new-gen i20. The Hyundai hatchback is also offered with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit, which develops 120 PS of power and comes paired with a 7-speed DCT.
