Toyota Glanza is the rebadged version of Maruti Baleno. Both the hatchbacks are powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine.

Maruti Baleno is one of the top-selling hatchbacks in the Indian market. It directly rivals with the likes of Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza. Many of you may know that Toyota Glanza is merely a rebadged version of Maruti Baleno. Everything is almost identical between both the cars except for the badges. The Maruti hatchback is offered at a starting price of Rs 5.64 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi), while Toyota Glanza is retailed at a price tag of Rs 7.01 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). However, the entry-level G variant of the Glanza boasts of a similar feature list as the Baleno's mid-spec Zeta trim, which too is priced at Rs. 7.01 lakh. The suit is followed by the further corresponding variants as well, as the Alpha trim of the Baleno gets the same equipment as the V variant of the Glanza. Considering the year-end discounts that are offered on both of these cars, similarly loaded variants boast of a price difference of Rs. 16,000, with Baleno coming up as the cheaper one of the two.

Talking of the discounts, Toyota is offering benefits of up to Rs 15,000 on the Glanza. On the other hand, Maruti is offering Rs 15,000 cash discount, Rs 10,000 exchange and a corporate discount of Rs 6,000. In total Maruti is offering Rs 31,000 discount on Baleno. While the Maruti Baleno is turning out to be a more affordable offering of the two, the Toyota Glanza offers a better warranty package here. Maruti Baleno derives power from a 1.2-litre four-cylinder gasoline mill, which is capable of shredding out 89bhp of peak power and 113 Nm of twisting force. The engine comes coupled to a 5-speed MT or a CVT. The same powertrain and transmission option does duties in the Toyota Glanza. The engine is rated to offer an ARAI certifier mileage of 21kmpl.
