Maruti Brezza Looks Handsome With A Jeep Compass Grille

Maruti Vitara Brezza used to be the best-selling SUV in the Indian market, and its winning streak may continue once again after the nationwide lockout ends. We have also seen plenty of exterior modifications to the car, with hundreds of modified examples all over India. Here, we have yet another modified Maruti Brezza, one which takes inspiration from Jeep Compass.

Jeep Compass is one of the most handsome looking cars in India, and it is perhaps the most popular inspiration for exterior customisation of the Brezza. This particular Brezza, seen in the images here, does the same. The front-end has a seven-slat grille, blacked-out with chrome garnishing.

The rest of the car’s exterior is also completely black, which gives it a menacing look. The stock wheels have been replaced by new alloy wheels, with five silver-coloured twin-spokes. The modifications are quite simple in nature, but they help add a bit of personal touch to the car.

There seem to be absolutely no mechanical changes to the car. By the look of the bumper, we can see that this is the older version of the Maruti Brezza, i.e., the BS-IV diesel model. It is powered by a 1.3-litre DDiS inline-4 turbocharged diesel engine, sourced from Fiat. This power plant is capable of generating 90 PS and 200 Nm of maximum were and peak torque respectively. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

With the BS-VI emission norms in effect now, Maruti has discontinued diesel engines and introduced petrol engines in its place. The Brezza is now available with a 1.5-litre ‘K-series’ inline-4 naturally aspirated engine, with a peak power of 105 PS and a maximum torque of 138 Nm. It comes paired to a 5-speed manual as standard, and a 4-speed torque converter automatic is available as an option.

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza retails between Rs. 7.34 lakh and Rs. 11.4 lakh (ex-showroom). Its direct rivals in the Indian car market include Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Honda WR-V, and the upcoming Nissan Magnite and Kia Sonet. There have also been reports that Jeep is also considering adding a sub-4-metre SUV to its line-up in our country.
