Maruti Ciaz is one of the nicest looking sedans in the country today. Here's one, which has been modified to feature a Lexus-inspired face.

Maruti Ciaz is one of the best-selling sedans in the country. It is also sold in some South-east Asian market like Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. In India, the Ciaz is hardly considered as a tuner-friendly car, but the case is not the same in the South-east Asian markets. Extensively modified examples of Ciaz are an easy sight there. We too came across one via a social media platform, which now gets a Lexus-like front face. The modified Ciaz in the pictures here is from Thailand. It gets a redesigned front facet along with a sporty body kit that lends it with a lot of distinction in comparison to its stock avatar.

To start with, it gets a custom bumper that comes with a Lexus-inspired spindle grille. The massive radiator grille features a blacked-out effect with mesh grilles and is surrounded by silver inserts. On the lower end of the bumper, a silver-finished scuff plate with a red-black lip is also visible. This new custom bumper is full of sharp creases and recess, thus, making this modified Ciaz look meaner from the front. Also, the fog lamps housings are sharply designed to adhere to the Lexus-inspired theme.

On the sides, it gets custom side skits with dual-tone effect. However, it continues to ride on the OEM-spec 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, it gets a massive spoiler. Thankfully, the tuner has kept this white-coloured example away from any fancy graphics or decals. Indeed, the Lexus-inspired grille looks a little outlandish, but that is the designer’s personal take.

Talking of the powertrain, the Ciaz comes with a 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine. It produces a peak power output of 105 PS and max torque of 138 Nm. Also, it comes with Maruti’s SHVS technology which incorporates 48-volt mild-hybrid tech that aids it with improved low-end performance and fuel efficiency. Talking of the gearbox, the Ciaz can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission. In India, Ciaz retails at a starting price of Rs. 8.31 lakh and tops out at Rs. 11.10 lakh.
