Here’s a speculative image that shows us how the Hyundai Creta rivalling mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki could look like.

We all know, Toyota and Suzuki have formed a joint venture wherein they will be seen sharing vehicles. The Baleno-based Toyota Glanza is the first product of this JV and the upcoming Vitara Brezza-based Urban Cruiser will soon become the second such model. So, what’s coming next? Since the carmakers will be sharing technologies and products with each other under the partnership, the next car to come out from their alliance will be a mid-size SUV that can rival the Hyundai Creta. Created by a digital artist Kleber Silva, here’s a rendered image that showcases how the Hyundai Creta rivalling mid-size SUV from Maruti Suzuki could look like.

In this rendering, the new SUV has been called the B-Cross by Silva himself and that is probably a hint at the car’s positioning. From the look of it, we can easily notice that the SUV is taking heavy inspiration from the Toyota Raize, which is a sub-four-metre SUV based on Toyota’s DNGA platform and sold in its home country in Japan.

The front grille is a signature Toyota unit but a new Suzuki badge has come in place of the Toyota badge. Interestingly, the headlamps look more like the Suzuki family version while the LED DRLs and fog lamps look identical to those on  the Raize SUV. Even the front parking sensors are placed on exactly the same place as the Raize.

The side profile of the rendered car also looks no different. The dual-tone white-black treatment on the car’s body, alloy wheels enhance its sporty look. S badge is again spotted on the alloys as well. The contrasting black roof gets a spoiler that is actually the extended section of the roof itself.  The rear-end design of the B-Cross also remains unchanged compared to the Raize. The muscular rear bumper of the car now accommodates reflectors and rear parking sensors. The LED tail lamps look quite premium and are connected by a chrome strip along with a Suzuki logo in the middle.

The all-new SUV will measure about 4.3 metres in length. It will be competing with the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Toyota Raize is powered by a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that is tuned to produce 97 BHP of power and 140 Nm of torque. We expect the Maruti Suzuki mid-sized SUV to get a more powerful engine option, probably a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit. The SUV could also come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine compliant with the BS6 norms.
