This Maruti S-Presso Pickup Truck Can Surely Attract Your Attention

The Indian people have a deep passion for SUVs or any cars which look like SUVs. The Indian SUV segment in India has developed by almost 28%. With a view to manufacturing an entry-level hatchback which looks like an SUV with SUV components to attract more Indian auto buyers, the largest automaker in the country has launched the Maruti S-Presso last month.

As regards the price list, the S-Presso competes against some popular hatchbacks like the Hyundai Santro and the Renault Kwid. However, its high ground clearance and upright a-pillar have been unique selling points of the S-Presso, which give it a clear advantage over other vehicles in the same segment.

However, the S-Presso might not look as rugged as how an SUV should do. While presenting the Maruti S-Presso in a rugged avatar would be difficult, it has been made much easier by SRK Designs who have skillfully created a rendering of the S-Presso in a pickup truck form. A thick and heavy bumper which stretches to the flared and riveted wheel arches has been equipped in the front. The grille has been newly designed. The headlamps receive a grille guard. On the side profile, the vehicle gets the necessary body cladding, which and gives it a more proportionate appearance but is absent in the original model. In the rear, the rear seats have given way to a cargo bed. It also gets some essential features which help increase its off-road capabilities such as the roof-mounted lights and the beefy off-road tyres, which have led the height of the vehicle to be raised even further and contributed to its more rugged appearance.

The Maruti S-Presso has been rendered in a rugged pick-up truck avatar by SRK Designs.

The video does not mention any alterations in terms of the mechanical front. For your information, the S-Presso receives its power from a 1.0-litre gasoline burner which can deliver a maximum power of 68 PS against a peak torque of 90 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 5-speed MT/AMT.
