In a bid to heat up the car market, Maruti Suzuki is offering significant discounts and benefits on its NEXA vehicles, including the Baleno, Ciaz, S-Cross and Ignis during June 2019.

The Indian automobile industry has been witnessing a tough phase in over the last few months due to the lack of buyers’ sentiments that have prompted various dealers to spice up things by offering significant promotional schemes. That said, Maruti's NEXA dealerships are introducing very attractive deals on the products across the premium outlets, namely Maruti Baleno, S-Cross, Ciaz and Ignis which are now available with huge discounts of up to Rs 70,000.

Maruti Baleno

Benefits: Rs 40,000

It is quite clear that Maruti Suzuki would like to exhaust the stocks of the older BSIV Maruti Baleno before the BSVI’s rollout on April 1, 2020. Known as a popular premium hatchback available across NEXA’s outlets, the BSIV Baleno now comes to offer an Rs 40,000-worth benefit for its prospective buyers. In a meanwhile, the BSVI Baleno variant which employs an 83 HP 1.2-litre petrol engine has a lower benefit of Rs 25,000 too.

Furthermore, customers can now avail a discount worth Rs 25,000 for the pre-update and the ongoing Baleno RS, which uses a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. Another Rs 25,000 discount is offered with the pre-facelift and current version of the Baleno diesel as well. This move comes just one day after the arrival of its re-badged engineering sibling, Toyota Glanza but after all, the company’s main motive here is to clear out the stocks of BSIV models as well as to maintain its certain position in the monthly sales chart.

Maruti Ignis

Benefits: Rs 55,000

The Maruti Ignis, though being the smallest NEXA car as yet, is quite a good-looking SUV-like funky hatchback in the competition. However, unlike most other hatches from the Indo-Japanese company, the Maruti Ignis does not receive much attention from the enthusiasts. That’s why the carmaker had to axe the diesel-powered Ignis from the production line last year. For now, NEXA dealers are offering good benefits of Rs 55,000 for the Maruti Ignis which, from now on, can be purchased as a viable alternative to the Hyundai Grand i10 or Mahindra KUV100 NXT.

Maruti Ciaz

Benefits: Rs 65,000

Recently, Maruti Suzuki has brought in a mid-life update for the premium executive sedan Maruti Ciaz which sees an aggressive rivalry with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna or Toyota Yaris in India. During this month, the Ciaz will be available with a big discount of up to Rs 65,000, depending upon its variants. That said, the maximum discounts are packed with the 1.5-litre petrol MT version while the 1.5-litre petrol automatic, 1.3-litre diesel manual and 1.5-litre diesel manual variants see the benefits varying from Rs 50,000- 60,000. However, it should be noted that both the above diesel engines will be soon discontinued before the April 1, 2020 deadline when the BSVI norms officially come into effect in the country.

Maruti S-Cross

Benefits: Rs 70,000

For some people who prefer their SUVs to get a more rugged appearance, the Maruti S-Cross’s crossover-like silhouette might be not really appealing. However, the Maruti’s SUV still managed to attract a set of fan followers from the Indian market that could be felt evidently on the sales chart every month. The Maruti S-Cross is available with a single Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre oil burner which churns out a maximum power of 90 HP and comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Nevertheless, in the not-too-distant future, this mill will be replaced by a new in-house developed 1.5-litre DDis 225 diesel motor that is good for a slightly higher power output of 95 HP and paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, many reports also suggested that the Maruti S-Cross will more likely to get a new 1.5-litre K15 Smart Hybrid petrol engine that also powers the Ertiga and Ciaz siblings. Therefore, in a bid to clear the stocks of the outgoing 1.3-litre diesel unit before the new version comes, NEXA dealers are giving up to Rs 70,000 on discounts for the S-Cross buyers during the month of June 2019.
