Maruti Suzuki cars have been taking criticism for low safety ratings, especially in recent days when the S-Presso and Wagon R have been rated low scores as per GNCAP. However, that’s not the case for the hugely popular Maruti Vitara Brezza. Unlike other vehicles, the Maruti Vitara Brezza has been awarded a 4-star rating from the organization and many cases of the Vitara Brezza involving in accidents have proved the SUV’s solid build. Here’s another accident of Maruti Vitara Brezza that shows us the sturdy pillar strength of the sub-four-metre SUV.

As you can see from the images, this is quite a serious accident that the Maruti Vitara Brezza has met. The car’s owner was travelling in the Brezza with his wife and children when a trailer suddenly got imbalanced and fell on the car.

However, after the collision, all the four pillars of the Vitara Brezza remains in good shape. The SUV just suffered from some damages on the roof and the front portion of the driver’s side. The windscreen has been shattered. The doorline and roofline have been twisted but the doors can still be opened properly.

That’s to say, this incident has proved the stellar strength of the pillars as it managed to keep the passenger all safe despite the heavy impact. These damages can be repaired to original form and repairs cost wouldn’t be exorbitant. If the pillars had been damaged seriously, it would have entailed some heavy repairing costs then.

Maruti Suzuki launched the facelifted version of the Vitara Brezza earlier this year, ditching the diesel engine from the product’s lineup. Be it a petrol-only SUV offering, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of generating 105 PS of max power and 138 Nm of peak torque. This mill can be had with a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed torque converter option.

As far as safety is concerned, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is equipped with multiple safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors with infographic display, side-impact protection beam, pedal release system, high-speed warning, front seatbelt pre-tensioners & force limiter, hill hold assist (fr higher-spec automatic variants only), reverse parking camera (for top-spec model only).

Prices of the Maruti Vitara Brezza are currently at around Rs 7.34 – 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It fights tooth and nails with the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport along with a lot of upcoming compact SUVs in the coming months.
