The Maruti Vitara Brezza remains one of the best compact SUVs you can buy. Today we have this ownership review of the now discontinued diesel Vitara Brezza.

After having two unsuccessful stints in the Indian market, the Vitara nameplate finally found success as a compact SUV. Maruti’s premium Grand Vitara SUVs, while being fine products on their own right was seen as too expensive by the public. For the third try, India’s largest automaker launched one of the first compact SUVs with the Vitara Brezza in 2016. It proved to be a good decision as the Brezza has been one of the best selling vehicles in a rapidly growing segment. Today we have an owner review of the Vitara Brezza diesel model.

The video has been uploaded by Arun Panwar on YouTube, and in it, they talk about the ownership experience of the Maruti Vitara Brezza ZDI+. Maruti just discontinued all diesel engines due to the new BS-VI emission norms, selling only petrol engines. The owner has had the Vitara Brezza for 3 years now and he loves the spacious interiors and airy cabin. He wanted to buy a petrol engine vehicle at first, but he found the torque from the diesel engine to be too good. Also 3 years back, the compact SUV segment wasn’t as crowded as now so options were limited. The owner is also impressed with the reliability and very good fuel efficiency of the Brezza.

But the owner also mentions some niggles with the Maruti Vitara Brezza. For an SUV, it has very light doors and the door handles are as same as other Maruti models, cheapening the experience a bit. The quality of plastics inside are also sub-par, with the owner having to put on tape on the glove box to make it stop rattling. He is also not impressed with the service experience as there are too many vehicles on any given day at the service centre. Also, the service centre tries to add unnecessary extra services which increase the bill without being of much help.
