MG Gloster vs Toyota Fortuner vs Ford Endeavour: Features

MG Gloster is a well-loaded full-size SUV. The interior of the Gloster car is brimmed with a host of premium features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supports, an 8.0-inch touchscreen instrument cluster, leather upholstery, three-zone auto climate control, captain seats, panoramic sunroof, LED cabin lighting system, 12-speaker sound system, ambient lighting with 64 different colour options. On the other hand, the Ford Endeavour is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, 8-way adjustable front passenger and driver seat, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Ford Pass that offers a host of connected features and more.

Finally, the Toyota Fortuner gets a faux wood finish for the cabin, controls for the infotainment and the MID. The Fortuner is available with a touchscreen double-DIN infotainment but sadly, it is not supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Due to the transition towards the stringent BS6 norms, we’ve seen many carmakers phased out its diesel-powered vehicles from the lineup and that’s the case of the Ford Endeavour here. The American SUV is now available with a single 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine that is capable of generating 167 BHP of max power and 420 Nm of peak torque.

Similarly, the MG Gloster also comes with a mere 2.0-litre diesel motor option tuned to produce 215 BHP of power and 480 Nm of torque. Toyota Fortuner is the only model of the lot to offer both petrol and diesel mills, which are also the biggest ones in the categories. The Toyota Fortuner draws the power from a massive 2.7-litre petrol engine good for 164 BHP/ 245 Nm along with a 2.8-litre diesel burner propelling 174 BHP/ 450 Nm of torque. On paper, the MG Gloster seems to be the most powerful SUV here but it should be noted that it is the largest and heaviest model in the list.

MG Gloster vs Toyota Fortuner vs Ford Endeavour: Verdict

Obviously, the MG Gloster appears to be an interesting package. With the intimidating street presence, a range of segment-first features and nice engine-gearbox options combined with a little off-roading prowess, the Gloster has blown a breath of fresher air to the space of full-size SUVs in our country. However, it’s worth noting that both Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour have cemented strong footholds in our country with the brands’ high value and better aftersales service. Only time will tell if the MG Gloster can hog the limelight from its long-standing competitors in the competition.
