The MG Hector is essentially a rebadged Baojun 530, a Chinese model that is also on sale as the latest Chevrolet Captiva and Wuling Almaz

MG Hector was the first product launched by the Chinese carmaker in the Indian market. As soon as the car was launched in our market, the SUV took no time to get popular among the buyers. After looking at a few crash tests based on some accidents, we know that MG Hector has a robust built quality. Here’s one such recent incident, where the SUV went via a big accident and got damaged completely. Nevertheless, all the four passengers sitting inside the car walked out with just a few scratches. The owner of this MG Hector was travelling with three more people on National Highway.

To exit the highway, there’s a small cut, which was not properly visible due to poor lighting conditions. The speed of the car was around 120 kmph and when the driver tried to take that cut, he got crashed into 6-7 feet sandpit on the side of the road. There was no warning board or sign on the road because it was a late-night, and the driver did not actually see it. After crashing, the SUV was tossed in the air sideways, and it turtled for a few times. The passengers sitting inside the car were stuck inside the SUV for a few minutes and were soon rescued by passersby. As one can see in the video that the car has been completely damaged and even the dealership has cleared it as a total loss.

Other than this, the cabin of the car seems to be in shape. This accident clearly tells about the strong and sturdy built quality of the MG Hector.
