MG Motors has launched the Hector Plus, the six-seater version of the Hector, in the Indian market. Here's our take on the pricing of the two.

After greeting the Indian market with the launch of the MG Hector and the electric SUV MG ZS EV, MG Motors has welcomed its third product, MG Hector Plus. The Hector Plus is the 6-seater version of the regular Hector. The six-seater SUV has been finally launched in the Indian market. In the following, IndianAuto will give you a comparison between the prices of the MG Hector Plus and MG Hector.

MG Hector Plus is launched at the starting price of Rs 12.74 lakh

First, the MG Hector Plus is available with both the petrol and diesel engine, just like the Hector. However, the six-seater Hector Plus is available in a smaller number of variants. Let’s check the variant-to-variant price comparison of the MG Hector and MG Hector Plus in the following table.

According to the variant-to-variant comparison, the Hector Plus variants are more expensive than its respective variants of the Hector by Rs 70,000-Rs 80,000. The top-spec Sharp MT of the Hector Plus commands the biggest price hike of Rs 86,000 against the similar variant on the Hector line-up.

MG Hector Plus will receive some minor updates for the exterior and the features 

On the exterior, the MG Hector Plus takes on the similar styling that is used on the regular Hector SUV. However, it includes some subtle updates to look fresher. On the Hector Plus, the front and the rear bumper gets a revised design. Overall, the design of the Hector Plus looks cleaner and less cluttered. Dimensionally, the Hector Plus is 65 mm longer than the Hector. The other dimensions are identical between the two cars.

6-seater MG Hector Plus Launched - Price, Specifications & Other Details (Hindi)

On the feature front, the MG Hector Plus comes fully-loaded with a host of features, which are carried forward from the original model. The newly-launched six-seater getst an Infinity sound system, powered front seats, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto support, and a panoramic sunroof, connected technology, ambient light and more. In addition to these features, the new MG Hector Plus also receives a handsfree tailgate opening function. In terms of safety, the MG Hector Plus is available with ABS with EBD and 6 airbags, full-degree camera, parking sensor on the front and rear, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and hill hold assist.

Both the Hector and Hector Plus shares the same powertrain options. They come with either a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. While the former can deliver a top power of 143 Bhp the latter can churn out 170 Bhp. The hybrid option is also available in the Hector Plus. However, it will be offered on the top-spec Sharp trim only.

Compared to the Hector, the Hector Plus has not only a higher seating capacity but also a host of additional features. For now, the MG Hector Plus is only available with six-seater configuration. However, MG Motors is planning to bring in a seven-seater version of the car on sale as well. At the moment, MG Hector Plus is competing against the like of Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta.
