Watch MG Motor’s New Song “Raftaar Wahi Hogi” Amidst Lockout

The unfavourable situation that has been plaguing many countries in the world, including India, has pretty much led to everything coming to a standstill. The reason for this is that in a bid to contain the spread , the Government of India has ordered a nationwide lockdown that started on March 25. While India announces extension on the world’s biggest lockout, Indians are experiencing the gloomy days replete with the fear of catching the disease as well as the irritations and boredom of staying at home for so long.

India is still in the biggest lockdown extended till May 5, 2020.

The ongoing situation has seriously impacted almost all sectors of the country and the automobile industry is no exception. MG Motor, a Chinese-owned British automotive brand that debuted in the Indian market last year, has been also heavily affected by the virus outbreak. However, being as positive as they are, MG Motor India has recently launched a new initiative encouraging people to stay home during the lockout.

Uploaded on MG’s official Youtube channel, the new song called “Raftaar Wahi Hogi” has really touched the hearts of the Indian people who have been confined inside their houses for a while now.

As revealed by MG, the company’s employees and dealer partners came together to create the song, While showing all things that people usually do at home, the song manages to convey the message that we should stay happily inside our respective homes and that things are going to be fine as while being apart, we can still fight against the bad situation together.

“Raftaar Wahi Hogi” was composed in a collaboration between the famous Bollywood lyricist, Dr Rahat Indori and the Delhi-based Sufi rock band Faridkot. The music and video of the song were completed within less than a week. MG has also tied up with Big FM as a radio partner of the song so that it could reach out to the mass audience.

“Raftaar Wahi Hogi – is a call for solidarity in these unsure times. As a community-focused company, we banked upon a simple insight that music connects everyone since we believe as a 'collective' entity. Together, we can truly make a difference,” said Udit Malhotra, MG Motor India’s Head of Marketing.

In fact, this is not the first time MG Motor launches an initiative amid the ongoing situation. Just a few days ago, MG Motor India confirmed that they would be providing 100 Hectors to the police officials, local officials, healthcare workers, etc. who are on the frontlines of the ongoing battle. The company is also working on a low-cost ventilator that will be supplied to the healthcare facilities.

Currently, MG Motor India has two vehicles in the product lineup for the Indian market – the MG Hector and MG ZS EV. The carmaker is set to launch the MG Hector Plus – a six-seater version of the Hector - in the coming time as the launch of the Hector Plus is due for the month of June 2020.
