Here’s a mileage comparison between new-gen Honda City, 2020 Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz.

Honda Cars India Ltd. recently launched the new-gen City in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is offered in three different trim levels, and price of the top-spec variant goes all the way up to Rs 14.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Compared to the earlier generation, the new model comes across as a definite upgrade and impresses on many fronts. It's even a strong rival to the likes of Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna

Here's a comparison between the mileage of new-gen Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna. These three are among the popularly known sedans in the C2-segment. The new City is powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former puts out 120 PS of power, while the latter churns out 100 PS of peak power. Hyundai Verna derives power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel mill along with a potent 1.0-litre turbocharged gasoline engine. The petrol and diesel mill belts out a power output of 115 PS. The turbo petrol engine develops power and torque outputs of 120 PS and 172 Nm. At last, the Maruti Ciaz is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol mill that produces 104 PS of peak power.

The fuel mileage of new-gen Honda City and Hyundai Verna is almost similar with just a difference of 0.1 kmpl. The Maruti Ciaz is the leader here offering an ARAI certified mileage of 20.65 kmpl. Moreover, it also offers the best mileage figures when it comes to petrol-automatic. Furthermore, Hyundai Verna diesel MT trim offers segment-leading fuel mileage, around 1 kmpl more than that of the City. Except for Verna, no other car in the segment is offered with a diesel automatic.
