This Mahindra Thar Has Been Impressively Modified To Look Like A Jeep Wrangler

It's not unusual to come across tastefully modified iterations of the Mahindra Thar. The simple design and the classic 'Jeep' look serves as a great canvas for car customizers to work their magic. However, in spite of a plethora of Thar-based mod-jobs, there are some that simply leave us spell-bound. The Jeep Wrangler-inspired Mahindra Thar seen in the below video is one such example.

The modification job on this Mahindra Thar has been done by DH Thar Modification in Punjab. As can be seen in the video, the Mahindra Thar has been completely customized to look like a Jeep Wrangler. The new front grille mimics that of the Wrangler, while the stock headlamps have given way to projector LED units with DRL rings that even serve as the turn indicators. The stock bumper has also been substituted by a metal off-road bumper. The new bumper holds LED foglamps.

The bonnet has been redone to come with a hood latch. The vehicle also comes with metal side fenders. All the plastic parts and fibre have been totally replaced with metal sheets. The front glass on the customized Mahindra Thar looks more boxy and upright. A hardtop has replaced the soft top. A large window for the rear passenger is also available in the modified Thar. The regular rims have given way to off-road wheels with thick tyres. The ORVMs and the taillights have been carried over from the original model. 

This Mahindra Thar has been thoroughly customized to become a Jeep Wrangler.

The interior has also been completely modified and features electrically adjustable seats, a touchscreen infotainment system, a reverse camera, etc. The whole cabin comes has a tan colour scheme. However, the motor of this Mahindra Thar has been kept stock.

DH Thar Modification spent around four months to complete this project. The overall price of the modification is approximately INR 2.5 lakh. The new-gen Mahindra Thar will soon launch in the Indian auto market but we wonder if it will be anywhere as attractive as the Wrangler-modified model we have here.
