This Modified Mahindra Thar Looks CLASSY and RUGGED

The Mahindra Thar is not only well-known for its off-road capabilities but also for its modification potentialities. Many Mahindra Thars have received modification jobs to look more unique. This Mahindra Thar is one such vehicle which has been customized by Jammu-based Backyard Customs which is known for implementing many vehicle modifications. In the below video, the process of transforming a rugged Mahindra Thar into a more luxurious, modern and well-equipped SUV has been showcased.

At the beginning of the video, the designer and his team paint and fabricate the Thar chassis. The stock front bumper has been substituted by a more off-road bumper with tapered side edges which are forged and welded into the mainframe, which contributes to the aggressiveness of the SUV. Two halogen fog lights are positioned into the front guard. The stock red seven-slot grille has given way to an all-black modified gladiator grille. The customized Mahindra Thar now runs on a more fashionable set of wheels which are covered by fatter profile tyres. The wheel arches have also been given an all-black cladding.

The modified Mahindra Thar has received quite a few upgrades in terms of its exterior.

Having said that, the most outstanding feature of this modification job is the hard metal dual sunroof which has been finished in matte black. This hard-top sunroof system consists of two sunroofs which can be only manually operated. A wide glass panel covers the side panel, which makes the people in the rear seat feel more comfortable. In the meanwhile, the interior does not get any modifications apart from the seats which get premium leather wraps. The engine does not get any alterations, either.

A dual sunroof system has been added to the customized Thar.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar will be equipped with numerous design updates and more top-notch features along with two new motors. Specifically, these features include a multi-functional steering wheel, a touchscreen infotainment system, auto cruise and automatic temperature control. Two new motors under the hood of the new Thar will be a 2.2-litre mHawk oil burner borrowed from the Mahindra Scorpio and a new 2.0-litre mStallion turbo gasoline burner. A 6-speed MT will be offered as standard while a part-time 4WD will be an optional feature.
