Thanks to the similarities between the Maruti Baleno and Swift, recently, a badly-maintained Maruti Swift has been upgraded into a Maruti Baleno. Firstly, let's have a look at the video.

According to the video, the Maruti Swift was in a quite bad condition with many scratches and rust all over its body. The suspension, steering and air-conditioning system along with many mechanical parts required a total overhaul. The final product bears a strong resemblance to the Maruti Baleno, particularly in the front. Specifically, the Maruti Swift now comes with a new dual paint scheme. The grille has been borrowed from the Maruti Baleno. The red base comes with a white roof, ORVMs and door handles, which gives it a contrasting effect. A faux hood is also available to give the car a muscular appearance. Both the front and the rear of the vehicle have now come with new badging, which contributes to the new look of the car.

The old-gen Maruti Swift and Baleno share similar headlights with each other. Nevertheless, while the Swift gets a squarish design for its headlights, the Baleno comes with more polishing units. Although the new Maruti Swift and Baleno are underpinned by the same platform, the old-gen Maruti Swift was supported by a different one. Nevertheless, both of them are powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol motor which has been tuned to slightly differ in each model. While in the Baleno, the engine can generate 81.8 BHP against 115 Nm, in the Swift, it can deliver 81.8 BHP against 113 Nm. Moreover, a 1.3-litre oil burner which is good for 74 BHP against 190 Nm is also available in both hatchbacks.
