Here’s a recent digital render of the Suzuki Jimny. It is expected to hit the Indian shores in the near future.

Suzuki Jimny is one of the most affordable and capable off-roaders offered by the automaker around the world. Its demand in foreign markets is pretty high. The SUV is yet to launch in the Indian market. It was first showcased in India early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo. Earlier, we’ve seen a lot of digital renders of the SUV, where designers have tried to give a more rugged look. Here’s a recent rendering of the Suzuki Jimny, which shows how the SUV can look like after getting a few aftermarket equipments.

This digital render has been made by Ayush Design. Talking about this Suzuki Jimny, the front fascia of the SUV gets an off-road spec bumper with a winch. For better illumination, along with regular round headlamps, it gets some added auxiliary lights on the front grille, LED fog lamps and small LED lights on both the sides of the front windshield. It sits on multi-spoke alloy wheels, which are wrapped around by dual-purpose tyres. Other than this, no modifications have been made on the car. But, these subtle tweaks make the SUV look more rugged. The carmaker has soon plan to introduce the new-gen model of the SUV in the Indian market. In India, it’ll be launched as the new-gen Gypsy. Reports suggest that Maruti has plans to introduce the new 5-door model of the car.

Mechanically, it’ll derive power from a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, which is capable of shredding out 105 PS and 103 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The same powertrain does duties in Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. It is likely to come with a 4WD system as standard. Once launched, it’ll lock horns with the likes of Mahindra Thar and upcoming Force Gurkha. It is expected to be priced between Rs 10 to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
