While old Toyota Corollas were never good-looking cars, this particular 2007 Toyota Corolla is customised to grab eyeballs. It features a metallic body wrap, custom wheels, blacked out lights, and much more!

Toyota Corolla is a car known for its comfort and reliability. It is not known for being a quick or fun car. Even more, the previous generations of this car were rather plain and boring. So how can such a car be made to look badass, and why? Well, the Corolla is the best-selling nameplate of all time, and was extremely popular even in India. It offers an extremely plush ride, and the engine is known to survive for years without any major hiccup.

If you’re thinking there is no way this car could ever look imposing wait till you see this one. Devesh Razdan (Instagram @drazdan6583) is the owner of this 2007 Toyota Corolla. Sporting a metallic grey body wrap job, the exterior looks extremely tasteful. Lets go through the details individually, starting with the front of the car.

The front-end sports a blacked-out front grill, and headlights get darkened glass with twin projector setup in each one. The dark features go well with the metallic grey exterior colour. Apart from that, the face remains unchanged. Coming to the sides, we can see the stylish 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. These are 17*8.5J GTR Emotion-R wheels with Accelera rudder shod on them. The suspension has also been modified, and the car now gets Megan Racing Performance Lowering Coil Springs, which lower the car’s ride height for a sportier stance.

The customisation continues towards the rear-end. The taillamps have received the same dark treatment as the headlamps, and are the biggest attention grabber on the entire car, followed closely by the large twin exhaust pipes peeping out from under the rear bumper. Those pipes are not for show though, as the stock exhaust has been replaced by a custom one for improved sonorifics. To complete the looks, there is a small boot-integrated rear spoiler as well, subtle yet magnificent.

Overall, we’d say this customisation was a job well done, even though it was based on a very plain and conservative looking car, the end result is impressively handsome. All it needed was a few changes here and there.

The subsequent generations of the Toyota Corolla in India were much better-looking cars, but Toyota always tries to keep matters conservative for mass market appeal. Thankfully, the current generation Corolla (Corolla Altis, as it is officially called) manages to look handsome, owing to its sharp lines and agressive design theme. It has two engine options: a 1.8-litre inline-4 petrol, or a 1.4-litre inline-4 turbocharged diesel. The former can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT auto transmission, while the latter can only be had with the manual transmission.
