This is the first modified VW Polo 1.0 TSI in India to belt out a maximum power of 130 PS, thereby making it more powerful than new Hyundai i20 Turbo
With the launch of the latest iteration of the VW Polo, the local subsidiary of German automaker giant discontinued the 1.2-litre 4-cyl turbo gasoline burner from the list of hatchback’s motor options. Even the 1.5-litre oil burner is no longer available and now, the premium hatchback is on sale only with 1.0-litre NA and TSI options. However, it must be noted here that the latest turbo-petrol motor for the Polo is an internationally-acclaimed motor that is even more powerful than the 1.2-litre option it replaces. However, here's a modified VW Polo 1.0 TSI that has even more power than the 120 PS Turbo petrol variant of the recently launched third-gen Hyundai i20.
This is India’s first customized Volkswagen Polo 1.0 TSI that comes with a tuned motor which can generate 130 BHP against 220 Nm, which is 20 BHP and 45 Nm increase from the stock motor. The vehicle receives a Stage 1 Wolf Moto Performance ECU Tuning and Superbee Turbo Back Exhaust system, thanks to these, the car experience a decent power increase. Moreover, the modified VW Polo also comes with Triple-S Lowering springs, which completes the mechanical alterations to the hatchback.
Aesthetic modifications consist of a carbon fibre hood and N1 Concepts-sourced 17-inch wheels covered by 205/40/17 Rubber. These are rotiform rims which are only available in foreign markets but have been borrowed by many local garages. The colours and the interior have been kept intact with no modifications.
The stock VW Polo 1.0 TSI manufactures 115 BHP against 175 Nm. Compared with the BS4 Polo 1.2 TSI¸ the new one witnesses only a power increase of 7 BHP. The standard 7-speed DSG has been substituted by a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter.
The Volkswagen Polo is priced from INR 5.82 lakh to INR 9.59 (ex-showroom). The TSI manual variants’ deliveries have been commenced; the AT version is expected to be introduced in the foreseeable future. According to recent reports, the production of the Volkswagen Polo AT will begin this month and the deliveries will commence next month.
