Right after posting about the retirement from international cricket, Mahendra Singh Dhoni gets home a Pontiac Firebird. His wife posted a picture of the same on a social media platform.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a big name in the game of cricket. However, the player has recently announced of his retirement from the game. But, soon after the announcement, the ace cricketer has brought home a new car. Dhoni is a big-time speed-frenzy soul. He owns a lot of exotics cars, but this time around, it is a vintage American muscle car – Pontiac Firebird. It is quite unheard a name around the Indian audience, but the muscle car is quite famous in the western car culture. According to some media reports, it is expected to be purchased at an auction for over Rs. 68 lakh. Recently, cricketer’s wife – Sakshi Dhoni shared a video and a picture of the Pontiac Firebird on a social media platform, which revealed the new purchase.
The Firebird was first launched by Pontiac in 1967 and was in production until 2002. For the complete production cycle, the Pontiac Firebird had a lot in common with the Chevrolet Camaro. It features muscular and flared fenders and houses a big-block V8 under its hood. However, the second and third generation of the Pontiac Firebird adopted a modern design with straighter and sharper lines. The engine tune that Dhoni’s Firebird runs on is not yet known but it gets a ram air intake, which further suggests that it displaces 6600 cubic centimetres of air-fuel charge.
