Land Rover is an Indian-owned British brand that is known for producing some of the most-capable yet luxurious SUVs in the world. The flagship offering from the brand is known as Range Rover, which now is retailed in a lot of variations with different suffixes. However, the range-topping grand-daddy of the Range Rover SUVs is sold without any suffix. It is quite fancied by the celebrities, politicians, and riches of the world. But, the Indian business tycoon – Mukesh Ambani has recently added 3 examples of the SUV to his security fleet.
Range Rover is offered in a total of 4 trims in the country – Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography, and SVAutobiography. The Jio owner has settled for the mid-spec Vogue SE trim. There are two wheelbase options on offer – standard and long-wheelbase (LWB). The latter is what Mr. Ambani has chosen to go with. In comparison to the standard wheelbase, the LWB trim offers an extra 186 mm of legroom in the second row. The base price for this particular configuration of the Range Rover is Rs. 2.31 Crore.
However, we aren’t aware of the engine that powers these SUVs, since there are 5 engine options on offer. The list includes – 258 PS 3.0L V6 diesel, 340 PS 4.4L V8 diesel, and 340 PS 3.0L supercharged V6 petrol. There are 2 more engine options on offer – 524 PS 5.0L supercharged V8 petrol and 566 PS 5.0L supercharged V8 petrol. However, these are offered with the range-topping Autobiography and SVAutobiography trims only.
These newest additions to the Jio garage will replace the older Range Rover Sport in Ambani’s motorcade. Although the Range Rover Sport SUVs will continue to be a part of the garage. Apart from these Range Rover siblings, there are other high-end vehicles as well, which are a part of the security line-up, like Land Rover Discovery, BMW X5, Toyota Fortuner, and Ford Endeavour.
