Here’s our exclusive digital rendering of the 2020 Mahindra Thar that has been modified with a signature Jeep grille along with a few other minor modifications

Mahindra & Mahindra has recently revealed the new 2020 Thar in India. The off-roader is scheduled to launch in our market on 2nd October 2020. The new-gen Mahindra Thar has attracted a lot of enthusiast because of its modern design language and premium cabin, but people are quite disappointed with the styling of the stock grille. Therefore, many Mahindra dealers are stocking up Jeep-like grille for the new-gen Thar, which will be offered as an unofficial accessory. So, here’s a new rendering video uploaded by YouTube channel of Indian Autos Blog, where our in-house rendering expert Shoeb R. Kalania has created a new digital render which shows how the 2020 Mahindra Thar with Jeep grille could look like along with a few other modifications.

The video starts by showing the illustrator replacing the stock Thar grille with new Jeep-like grille. The Jeep-like grille looks engaging and enhances the overall appeal of the SUV. Talking about a few other styling tweaks, Upfront, the SUV gets an all-black revised bumper along with a winch on it. For better illumination, the off-roader features new projector headlamps along with LED bar light on the front bumper and roof of the SUV. One can also see Thar badging on the bonnet of the car. On the side, the SUV employs off-road rims with off-road spec tyres. Overall, the new-gen Mahindra Thar with Jeep-like grille and a few other off-road centric equipment look better than the stock model.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel unit. The former puts out power and torque outputs of 150 PS and 320 Nm, while the latter churns out 130 PS of peak power and 320 Nm of twisting force. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or 6-speed AT. Moreover, a transfer case and low-range gearbox will be offered as a standard fitment along with mechanically-locking rear differential. It’ll rival with the likes of upcoming Force Gurkha and Suzuki Jimny.
