Wondering how good is the sound output from all-new Hyundai i20's Bose sound system? Take a look at it here.
Hyundai i20 is one of the best-looking hatchbacks in the Indian car market. The new-gen model of the car has been recently launched in the country at a starting price of Rs. 6.79 lakh. While it is priced higher than most of its rivals, it compensates for its high price tag with its feature list. It comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display for the infotainment unit, which is the biggest in its segment. Moreover, it comes coupled to a 7-speaker Bose sound system. But, how well does this system sound is a question to be answered. In a quest to find out the answer, we came across a YouTube video from Plus Drive.
In the video, the host showcases the sound output of the Bose sound system that the range-topping trim of the new-gen i20 comes with. The host claims that the sound output of this system is really great. According to him, the bass effect is phenomenal in low and mid volumes, however, when the volume is maxed out, the bassy-ness distorts the mid-tones. He quotes that it is the best OEM-spec sound system in this segment. Moreover, the host seems pretty impressed by the touch response of the 10.25-inch touchscreen unit. It comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility along with multi-phone connectivity via BlueTooth.
Talking of the powertrain options, the new-gen i20 can be had with either of the three engine options – 1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo-petrol, and 1.5L diesel. The 1.2L Kappa unit produces 88 PS against 113 Nm here, and it can be had mated to either a 5-speed MT or a CVT. The diesel engine on the all-new i20 is sourced from the Venue. Thus, it puts out 100 PS of peak power and 240 Nm of max torque and comes coupled to a 6-speed MT only. The smallest and the most powerful one of the lot – 1.0L 3-pot turbo-petrol motor is designed to dish out 120 PS and 172 Nm of max output. Interestingly, it will be available with two transmission choices – 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT.
