The all new Hyundai i20 has been selling like hotcakes since it launched this Diwali. Today we have a specs and features comparison between the i20 Magna and Sportz variants. Further details below.

Hyundai launched the third-generation i20 in India during Diwali and it has been a smash hit for the Korean auto giant. It managed to get over 20,000 bookings during the first 20 days of being launched, an average of 1,000 bookings a day. The new i20 gets Hyundai’s new Sensuous Sportiness design language with signature visual cues like the new jewel pattern grille is flanked by new Projector LED head lamps and LED DRLs, while the side profile gets new creases and wedge-shaped cuts and gets chrome side inserts on the windows which leads to a more aggressive and premium stance. Brand new Z-shaped LED tail lamps are bridged by a chrome strip instead of the LED lightbar found on the international models. We came across this video which compares the two cheapest variants of the new i20, the Magna and the Sportz.

The video has been uploaded by Car Duniya on YouTube and it starts by showing us the exteriors of both variants of the new Hyundai i20. The front end looks similar in both the cars with projector fog lamps and LED DRLs with Halogen headlamps, though the Sportz gets an auto on/off function and has a slightly different grille. Over to the side, the Magna gets steel wheels with plastic covers while the Sportz gets stylized steel wheels that give a pseudo alloy look. The Sportz also gets electrically foldable and adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators while the Magna gets manual-folding units and indicators on the fenders. You get a chrome garnish around the window line and a protective cover on the side sills in the Sportz as well. Coming to the rear the main difference between the two variants is the taillamps, with the Sportz getting LED units for the now signature Z-shape lights while the Magna gets regular bulbs only. Both variants get rear parking sensors but the Sportz adds a reversing camera with an adaptive guideline feature.

It is the interior where you find the most noticeable changes between the two trim levels of the new Hyundai i20. The Sportz trim gets a fully digital instrument cluster with a myriad of features while the Magna gets a regular analogue setup with a MID between the dials. The Magna also only has a non-touch audio system with 4 speakers while the Sportz gets the new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with inbuilt Apple Carplay and Android Auto. You get a height-adjustable driver’s seat in the Sportz and both variants get a cooled glovebox.
