The all-new Hyundai i20 has just been launched in the Indian auto market to compete against the Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz. The Hyundai premium hatchback is priced from INR 6.79 lakh to INR 11.7 lakh (ex-showroom). The car has already been delivered to Hyundai showrooms all over the country. A new TVC for the new i20 has been released by the South Korean automaker to show how the vehicle looks. Firstly, let’s have a look at the TVC first.

The new i20 looks shorter, wider and has a longer wheelbase than the outgoing model. In the front, a wide grille with three-dimensional styling components is present. The headlights are all LED with integrated turn indicators and DRLs and feel like an extension of the grille. The front of the car also features a sharp bumper and a triangle gloss black garnish around the projector fog lights. On the side profile, the i20 comes with sporty alloy wheels; the ORVMs are designed in a specific way to minimize the drag. The chrome line which extends across the window line connects the chrome arc on the C pillar. Chrome garnishes are also present on the door handles. What is most noteworthy about the car is the rear with Z shaped split taillights and a reflector bar with chrome inserts which stretches between the lamps.

The new Hyundai hatchback receives its power from three motors. The first one is a 1.0-litre turbo gasoline burner which can produce 120 PS against 172 Nm and is mated to a 7-speed DCT/iMT. The second one is a 1.2-litre NA petrol motor which can deliver 83 PS for the manual version and 88 PS for the CVT one. The 1.5-litre oil burner is good for 100 PS and helps the i20 become the most fuel-efficient diesel vehicle in the premium hatchback segment. The last motor is available with only a manual gearbox.
