More Power

As regards the powertrains, the 2.7-litre gasoline burner is likely to be retained with the same figure output of 166 PS against 245 Nm in the updated Fortuner. The Thai-spec Fortuner receives its power from a 2.8-litre turbo diesel motor which can deliver 204 PS against 500 Nm. The India-bound version is anticipated to come with the more powerful oil burner. While the petrol motor will be mated to a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT, the oil burner will be paired with a 6-speed MT/AT. The 2WD system will be standard across all the variants; in the meanwhile, the 4WD system will be exclusive to the diesel ones.

Costlier

The Toyota Fortuner is currently priced from INR 28.66 lakh to INR 36.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model, however, is very likely to cost a tad more. However, our belief is that the higher price tag will be justified through the additional features and fresher aesthetics.
