It’s also interesting that the aftermarket hardtop and alloys have been the common modifications of the old-gen Thar but now it’s never a matter for the new-gen model. Also, the new Thar comes in a choice of a soft top and soft top convertible configurations that would definitely give away the excellent driving experience.

Massive changes have been done to the interior of the new Mahindra Thar as well. It now gets an upmarket interior with a large touchscreen infotainment system, multi-functional steering, AC vents, with forward-facing rear seats.

The suspension setup of the new Thar has been enhanced for both on- and off-road use. But the biggest change should lie under the hood of the Thar which boasts of a completely new engine option. The 2020 Mahindra Thar is now offered with a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine that produces 130 BHP of max power and 320 Nm of peak torque, along with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol mill generating maximum power of 150 BHP and 320 Nm of torque. Also, for the first time, the Thar is available with an automatic transmission that is missed out on the older-gen model. Currently, the 2020 Mahindra Thar is priced at around Rs
