New Mahindra Thar Convertible Looks Uber Cool With Custom Paint-Job

Mahindra Thar is now on sale in its new-gen iteration. With new looks, updated chassis, revamped interior, and revised powertrain and drivetrain options, Thar is managing to make big numbers on the sales chart. The off-roader boasts of a super-long waiting period of up to 9 months. However, the customers who have got the cars delivered, they are modifying their possessions to make them look unique and stand out from the crowd. While we have seen a lot of examples of the new-gen Mahindra Thar with Jeep-inspired radiator grille and front bumper, a custom-painted Thar was still a far sight. But not anymore, since we recently came across a custom-painted Mahindra Thar convertible via a social media platform.

The Thar in the above image belongs to Mofiz Ul Rahman, who hails from Kolkata West Bengal. Talking of the modifications, the owner has custom painted the vehicle with a unique-looking design, which represents Himalayan scenery. The custom paint job looks wonderful, and it also helps it with some added rugged appeal. The mountain peaks add to the overall visual drama of this custom paint job. Moreover, the black paint used for this artwork induces a contrast effect.

Apart from this custom paint job, new-gen Thar owners are also wrapping their examples in a white vinyl wrap as the carmaker is still not offering the new-gen Thar in the white paint scheme. Currently, the Mahindra Thar is offered in a total of 6 colour options, namely Aquamarine, Rocky Beige, Napoli Black, Mystic Copper, Red Rage, and Aqua Marine Galaxy Grey.

The new-gen Thar is available with a 2.0L turbo-petrol and a 2.2L turbo-diesel engine. The former puts out a rated power output of 150 Hp and max torque of 320 Nm, while the latter can develop a peak power and torque output of 130 Hp and 300 Nm, respectively. The gearbox options on the new-gen Thar include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. Talking of the prices, the 2020 Mahindra Thar starts at Rs. 11.90lakh and tops out at Rs. 13.75 lakh.
