New Mahindra Thar Modified By AZAD 4x4 Looks Tasteful - VIDEO

The 2020 Mahindra Thar is off to a very successive response since its launch in August last year. Waiting periods currently stretch to 7 months, and you can’t book a new one before May 2021.Mahindra has ramped up production by 50% from January, and even then the waiting periods will be quite long. The new Thar is an all-new model and comes to the market a decade after its legendary predecessor first launched. The 2020 Thar intends to carry the off-road prowess forward but also add in a broader capability scale with refined on-road manners. Today we have this new Thar that has been modified by AZAD 4x4.

The video has been uploaded by AZAD 4x4 on YouTube and we can see all the modifications the company has done to this 2020 Mahindra Thar. On the front, there’s a new aftermarket bumper from Overland India while the grille has been replaced with a classic jeep unit. The vertical slats get silver inserts and a Jeep badge has been stuck on it and a new skid plate has been added. All the lights have been changed,  with the headlamps being RGB units which can be controlled by Bluetooth. The turn indicators and fog lamps are now integrated with the front bumper while a set of auxiliary lamps have been added also. The bonnet gets two work lamps which are installed on brackets.

Over to the side, this Mahindra Thar keeps the stock wheels and is generally in stock form, with the major change being the hardtop has been painted in a shade of red and roof rails have been installed. On the rear, there’s a new stop lamp mounted above the spare wheel on a bracket. Coming to the interior, the Thar now gets black upholstery with black highlights and both front and rear passengers get an armrest with the latter getting cup holders. There’s a dead pedal added and now gets an aftermarket sunroof as well. Overall, this is a very tastefully done modification that should make every day driving this Thar even more stress-free.

Prices for the 2020 Mahindra Thar start from Rs 9.80 lakh and go up to Rs 13.75 lakh. You can choose between 2 engine options, a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel, and a 2-litre turbo-petrol. The oil-burner makes 130 PS/320 Nm of peak power and torque figures while the petrol makes 150 PS/320 Nm of max power and torque. You get two transmission options for both the powertrains, A 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic. The new-gen Thar also comes with a low-range gearbox and a transfer case along with a mechanically-locking rear differential, which should make it as good as its beloved predecessor off-road.
