Diwali is around the corner. If you are considering buying a small car this Diwali, you might want to look at new Maruti Celerio and 3rd Generation Hyundai i20
Diwali is the busiest time of the year in the automotive market. Car brands usually take advantage of the festive season to launch their new cars as well as offer attractive discounts for their existing models as a way to draw the customers. This year, the economy, in general, is heavily affected by the global pandemic. The COVID19 breakout also puts a heavy toll on the automotive industry. Many new car launches have been delayed due to the global health crisis. Car sales hit the lowest point in history. Diwali will be the last chance for carmakers to generate profit before the year ends.
Recently, we have seen some big launches such as Kia Sonet, Mahindra Thar and MG Gloster at the beginning of the festive season, which pretty much warms up the market. Not just that, there are also various other new cars that will launch in the upcoming weeks, during this festive season. Check out our list of the new car launches in Diwali 2020.
Hyundai i20 is one of the most anticipated launches of late 2020. The next-gen version of the premium hatchback has hit the international market earlier this year. Hyundai India has planned to launch this new-gen version in the Indian market in the same year. According to the newest reports, the launch of the new Hyundai i20 is expected to take place on October 28.
The third-gen Hyundai i20 will get extensively upgraded, sleeker exterior. Additionally, the interior of i20 will also be fitted with new upmarket features. Another highlight of the new-gen Hyundai i20 is a new set of powertrains.
Third-gen Hyundai i20 will make Indian debut in late October
It is expected that next-gen Hyundai i20 will get a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is currently powering the Hyundai Venue. On the Venue, the same engine is capable of churning out 100 PS and 235 Nm. There are also two petrol options to be offered on the 2020 model. These include the 1.2-litre petrol (83PS/113Nm) and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (120PS/173Nm). With all these updates, the prices of the 2020 Hyundai i20 will see a slight increase.
Maruti is about to give the Celerio a generation update this festive season. Before launch, the Maruti Celerio has been spotted in full disguise for a couple of times. From the spy pictures, the Maruti Celerio looks bigger and higher than the existing model, suggesting a better interior space.
One of the major changes for the new Celerio is the new Heartect platform. The new model also carries some new exterior elements like projector headlights with LED DRLs, pronounced bumpers, redesigned alloy wheels, turn indicator-integrated ORVMs, and revised taillights. The interior will also be enhanced with better equipment. It is likely that the new-gen Maruti Celerio will get the latest SmartPlay Studio unit, reverse camera, new upholstery among other additions to the existing offering.Under the hood, the Maruti Celerio will carry forward the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates 66 Bhp and 90 Nm. This engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT unit.
