New TVC of 2020 Honda City Highlights its Party Trick

Honda Cars India recently launched the new-gen City in our market. The premium C2-segment sedan brand has been serving the Indian customers for over two decades, and it rivals the likes of Maruti Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid. The car is offered at a starting price of Rs 10.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base trim and goes all the way up to Rs 14.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-of-the-line variant. While it is much costlier than its rivals, its pricing is, in fact, similar to that of the earlier City. The carmaker has recently released a new TVC video for the fifth-gen City.

The video has been uploaded by the official Youtube channel of Honda Cars India. The TVC video starts by showing the segment-first feature offered with the all-new City - The all-new Honda City is the first car in its segment to feature Amazon Alexa voice compatibility by which a user can control several functions of the car. In the video, one can see the actor giving a voice command to his Alexa home device to turn on the AC of the car. Through this feature, a user can control a lot of other functions using voice commands. The TVC video also shows how the all-new Honda sedan looks from outside and inside, and explains why it is above all other cars in its segment.

The fifth-gen Honda City is completely different from the earlier model. The design language of the new-gen Honda City looks quite similar to that of the Civic and Accord. Upfront, it gets LED headlamps with dual function LED DRLs, a wide chrome grille and sharp looking bumper. Inside, it comes loaded with features like an updated touchscreen infotainment system, sunroof, semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control and much more. Mechanically, it derives power from a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The former puts out power and torque outputs of 121 PS and 145 Nm, while the latter churns out 100 PS and 200 Nm. The petrol mill comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT, while the oil-burner comes coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
