Nissan Terrano was the re-purposed version of the Renault Duster. Since Dacia Bigster-based Renault Duster is expected to be on the cards, here's how its Nissan-badged version will look like.

With the introduction of Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger in the Indian market, we know that Renault and Nissan are working on the formula of platform sharing. This way, the carmakers can price their offerings at a much lower price tag than the competition. Earlier, Renault and Nissan have launched the badge-engineered models of Sunny and Duster as Scala and Terrano, respectively. With the unveiling of Dacia Bigster Concept, it seems like Nissan will have another chance to sell a badge-engineered Renault car in the Indian market. But how will it look like? What all changes it would possess in comparison to the Bigster-based Renault Duster? Well, our in-house rendering specialist- Shoeb R. Kalania, has created a digital render of Nissan’s iteration of the Bigster Concept to answer these questions.

The Nissan-badged rendition of Bigster Concept features some interesting details in the above rendering. The designer has used a big V-Motion grille on the front face with a rather proportional skid plate. The headlamp assembly merges with the grille and features nice-looking LED DRLs. On the sides, things remain largely identical to the Dacia Bigster Concept. Wide wheel arches house the massive dual-tone alloy wheels, which feature a 5-spoke design. The black cladding that runs across the length of the car gives it a rugged appeal. The most interesting design element of the Bigster Concept is its C-pillar-mounted door handles. They are retained here as well.

While the Bigster Concept is expected to be the next-gen Renault Duster, it also has the potential to bring back the Nissan Terrano nameplate in the market. If the top honchos of the Nissan-Renault alliance approve the project, expect a turbocharged Nissan Terrano in the Indian market. It will be powered by a 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo-petrol motor, which currently does duties on the Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks. It puts out a rated power output of 156 PS and 254 Nm of max torque. Alongside, there will be a 1.5L NA petrol motor, which can deliver 106 PS and 154 Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, and CVT. Nissan offered a 1.5L oil burner on the Terrano earlier, which would not be a part of the list this time.
