Nissan Magnite XL Trim Detailed on Tape

Ever since its launch in December this year, the Nissan Magnite compact SUV has been the talk of the town, offline and online. Somehow, the Japanese automaker has managed to price the compact SUV from Rs 4.99 lakh. Even though this price is introductory and will increase by Rs 50,000, it still undercuts all of its segment rivals to the tune of a lakh rupees. It has been priced so aggressively that it competes with hatchbacks like the Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 for similarly priced variants. The Magnite already has over 15,000 bookings and just recently Nissan commenced deliveries. Today we’ll take a look at the specs and features of the mid-level Magnite XL variant.

The video is a walkaround review of the Nissan Magnite XL. It is a feature-packed variant for the price and comes with halogen headlamps, 16-inch steel wheels with dual-tone hub caps, functional roof rails with a load capacity of 50 kg, and a rear windscreen wiper on the exterior. The interior comes in black fabric upholstery with light grey accents, a silver accented steering wheel with built-in audio controls, adjustable front and rear headrests, power windows, manual air conditioning, tilt-adjustable steering, with remote keyless entry, body-coloured and electrically adjustable/foldable ORVMs, a 2-DIN audio system with 6 speakers and Bluetooth compatibility, USB charging port, outside temperature gauge, and analogue speedometer and tachometer dials in addition to a 3.5-inch TFT digital MID. The standard safety features on the Nissan Magnite include dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, anti-roll bar, rear parking sensors, and rear defogger.

Should you opt for the Turbo model, the Magnite will also come equipped with 60:40 split rear seats with rear armrest and ISOFIX anchors, vehicle dynamic control, hill start assist, traction control, hydraulic brake assist. But across all engine specs, the Magnite XL comes with an anti-theft alarm, central lock with driver switch, speed-sensing door lock, and impact sensing door unlocks as well. 

Prices for the Nissan Magnite XL range between Rs 5.99 lakh – Rs 7.89 lakh, ex-showroom. It is available with two engine options. The 1-litre 3 cylinder N/A petrol makes 81 PS/96 Nm of peak power and torque figures and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1-litre 3-pot turbo-petrol churns out peak power and torque figures of 100 PS/160 Nm with the 5-speed manual and 100 PS/ 152Nm when paired to the CVT auto.
