Old Toyota Innova Vs Innova Crysta In Off-Road Challenge In Spiti

First launched in 2005, this year, the Toyota Innova completes 15 years of a glorious innings in our country. The first-gen MPV was discontinued a long time ago and substituted by the larger, more modern and more comfortable Toyota Innova Crysta, which was a remarkable generation update. Below is a video in which the first-gen Toyota Innova and the new Innova Crysta try to pass the Manali-Gaza road in Spiti Valley. These roads are heavily damaged and strong enough to cause damage to the bottom and the suspension of the car. Firstly, let’s have a look at the video.

At the beginning of the video, we can see the Innova Crysta pass the roads. Since it comes with a pretty high ground clearance, it doesn't suffer from much difficulties in passing the roads. The old Innova has a lower ground clearance, which makes it had to face many troubles in overcoming the roads. Next, both the cars have pass the flowing rivulets. Unlike the first challenge, this one is a piece of cake for both of them. After that, they can be seen overcoming a sharp turn. Noteworthily, the passengers are not allowed to be seated in any of the obstacles and can only get back when the two cars have cleared them. 

In spite of facing some difficulties, the two MPVs finally manage to overcome the off-road challenge thrown at them in the very ticky Spiti region

The current Toyota Innova Crysta receives its power from two motor options: a 2.7-litre gasoline burner and a 2.4-litre oil burner. While the former can generate 166 PS against 245 Nm, the latter can deliver 150 PS against 360 Nm. The transmission duties are undertaken by a 5-speed MT and an optional 6-speed AT. The Toyota Innova Crysta is currently priced in the range of INR 15.66 lakh to INR 24.67 lakh (ex-showroom).
