Omar Abdullah Reviews 2020 Mahindra Thar, Anand Mahindra REPLIES

Mahindra & Mahindra has recently launched the all-new Thar in the Indian market. The automaker has registered more than 9,000 bookings within a few days of its launch on 2nd October 2020. The all-new Mahindra SUV has already attracted a lot of enthusiast from around the country. Many big personalities are also praising the 2020 Mahindra Thar. Recently, the former CM of Jammu and Kashmir and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah got chance to drive the new-gen Mahindra off-roader. 

He and his father are invited by a Mahindra dealership in Srinagar to experience the all-new SUV. The father-son duo drove around the car around the streets of Srinagar, and he got chance to experience the LX manual variant, which is offered in the hard-top configuration. He also shared a few pics on the car on his Twitter by saying, “ Took dad for a spin in the new @MahindraRise Thar. What an amazing vehicle! I loved the short drive & can’t wait to take it for a longer one when it snows & off-road into the mountains. Take a bow team Mahindra. Kudos @anandmahindra."

In reply, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, Mr Anand Mahindra thanked the Omar Abdullah for his kind reviews on 2020 Mahindra Thar calling it ‘an enormous compliment’. Mahindra wrote, “I know you’re very demanding of the cars you drive." Moreover, Abdullah also asked Anand Mahindra to share his number so that his father could speak to him personally and tell his views on the new-gen Mahindra Thar. Abdullah wrote, “He wanted to let you know first hand what he thinks of the Thar."

It is quite surprising to see that people around the country are loving the new-gen Mahindra Thar. They are quite impressed with its looks and cabin features. It is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mStallion petrol motor. The former develops power and torque outputs of 130hp and 300 Nm, while the latter puts out 150hp and 320 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT.
