Talking about the Hindustan Ambassador, the classic sedan was discontinued in the Indian market a few years back. It was the first-ever car that was made in India. The car is still owned by a lot of enthusiasts, collectors and ministers around the country. The classic sedan was powered by a 1.8-litre, fuel-injected, Isuzu-soureced petrol engine. Also, on offer was a 2.0-litre diesel engine option. Both the motors were paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. On 24th March 2014, the production line of Hindustan Ambassador was shut down, after the iconic sedan served the nation for over 5 decades. In 2017, the ‘Ambassador’ nameplate was sold to PSA Grope, which is likely to enter our market by next year.
