Ever wondered, how the production-spec Kia Sonet will look like? Here's a catch.

Kia unveiled the Sonet concept at the 2020 Auto Expo earlier this year. The production-spec version of the Sonet is currently in its final phase of testing. Thus, it is expected to make its way to the production line soon. However, the launch is likely to take place around the advent of the festive season this year. We recently reported that Kia will price the Sonet in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 13 lakh, as confirmed by our dealerships sources. The real question that remains unanswered to date is how the Sonet will look like in its production-spec avatar. To reduce your curosity levels a bit, our in-house digital artist – Shoeb R. Kalania - has come up with his digital illustration of the production-spec Kia Sonet.

Kia Sonet Rendered In Its Production-spec Avatar, Looks Flamboyant

In the rendering, the Sonet gets a dual-tone treatment with a shade of red for the body and a black paint scheme for the roof. The car in the rendering looks nearly identical to the one showcased at the Auto Expo since Kia showcased a near-production model as Sonet concept. Also, the prototypes spotted on the test had a similar silhouette and design elements. In comparison to the concept, however, it gets a set of projector fog lamps on the bumper now. Also, the chrome-finished alloys wheels seen on the concept version are replaced with smaller diamond-cut units. Overall, the design of the Sonet looks sportier and premium in comparison to the cars it will rival.

The Sonet will also boast of a plusher and posher interior. With the same 10.25-inch infotainment unit as the Seltos, it will have the largest infotainment screen in its class. The other features on the Sonet will include automatic climate control, voice-controlled sunroof, Bose sound system, 6 airbags, cruise control, UVO Connect connected car features and more. Talking of the powertrain options, the Sonet is likely to come with 2 engine options – 1.0L turbo-petrol and 1.5L diesel. The former will come mated to an iMT and a 7-speed DCT, while the latter will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox only.
