Restored HM Contessa With Red Paint & Chrome Elements Is A Looker

Hindustan Motors produced the Ambassador for so long that it holds the title for 'Indian car with the longest production run'. But it is the brand’s other offering – Contessa - that rules over almost every enthusiast's mind for the way it looks. Based on Vauxhall Victor, Contessa embodies muscle car elements in its design. Also, it is often referred to as the Indian muscle car. The Contessa was discontinued in 2002 but a lot of them have been modified and restored to give them a new lease of life. Here’s one which has been restored to its original form and looks classier than the stock version of the car. We came across this example via a YouTube video, which was uploaded by Arjun Sreekumar on his channel.

This particular example has been painted in a shade of metallic red. The new paint scheme lends the car a certain amount of bling. Also, a lot more bling and shine has been added to the car by fixing a slew of chrome elements. On the front, it gets a chrome-finished grille and headlamp surrounds. The bumper retains its stock form but it is now painted in black. On the sides, the car gets a lot of chrome elements as well. The window linings, door handles, and ORVMs, are all finished in chrome. Though, it does not look overdone at any instance.

The car now sits on a set of aftermarket rims. The 5-spoke units are finished in a shade of silver and are draped in low-profile tyres. Also, the OEM lug nuts are replaced with aftermarket red-painted lug nuts. On the rear, there’s not much that has been changed. The tail looks neat with the use of LED elements in the tail lamp. However, the video has not revealed any change that has been done to the interior of the car or under the hood. Although it does get an aftermarket end can that makes it sound better.
